Peacock has officially unveiled a high-octane first look at Twisted Metal Season 2, confirming that Calypso’s (Anthony Carrigan) deadly tournament will take center stage when the series returns on July 31.
Iconic Characters Join the Chaos
The two-minute teaser offers a frantic glimpse into the show’s upcoming vehicular carnage, heavily leaning into the franchise’s video game roots. Fans were treated to several major reveals, including the Roach Coach—the iconic exterminator van from Twisted Metal 4—complete with its signature rooftop roach firing rounds. Furthermore, after being teased in the season one finale, the soul-stealing biker Mr. Grimm finally makes his live-action debut, dodging missile fire from the series’ most sadistic mascot, Sweet Tooth (portrayed by Joe Seanoa with voice work by Will Arnett).
Fan-Favorite Machines Hit the Road
Perhaps the most nostalgic highlight for long-time players is the brief appearance of Axel. While the teaser stops short of a full character close-up, the footage confirms the return of the fan-favorite “War Wheel” vehicle. Seeing the massive mechanical contraption navigating the wasteland provides a clear nod to the series’ golden era, signaling a significant escalation in the show’s production design and commitment to its source material.
John Doe and the Dollface Reunion
Beyond the vehicular destruction, the new season is set to push the narrative forward with the long-awaited reunion between John Doe (Anthony Mackie) and his sister, Dollface (Tiana Okoye). Following the revelation in season one that Dollface leads the vigilante group known as “The Dolls,” the dynamic between the siblings promises to be a focal point of the upcoming episodes. While this specific interaction was omitted from the teaser, the stage is set for a major shift in the series’ plot when Twisted Metal premieres its second season on July 31.
