The Simpsons has officially tapped MadTV veteran Mo Collins to voice the series’ notorious bully, Jimbo Jones, filling the void left by longtime voice actor Pamela Hayden following her retirement this past November.
A New Voice for Springfield’s Favorite Bully
After an incredible run spanning the show’s entire history, Pamela Hayden stepped down from her roles in late 2024. While Collins is confirmed to take over the mantle of Jimbo Jones, the future of Hayden’s other major character, Bart Simpson’s best friend Milhouse Van Houten, remains undecided. Production sources indicate that a separate announcement regarding the new voice for Milhouse is expected later in the current 36th season.
Why Mo Collins Is the Perfect Fit
Fans familiar with Mo Collins’ extensive comedy resume have little reason to worry about the transition. During her six-season tenure on the cult-classic sketch show MadTV, Collins proved her versatility with a wide range of eccentric characters, from overbearing mothers to high-energy Midwestern caricatures. Her comedic range is further cemented by her memorable portrayal of the sharp-tongued, chaotic Pawnee newscaster Joan Callamezzo on Parks and Recreation.
Defying the AI Trend
The casting of a seasoned performer like Collins serves as a firm statement from The Simpsons production team: the show remains committed to human talent. This decision arrives amid growing industry concerns regarding artificial intelligence in voice acting—a topic previously addressed by series regular Hank Azaria, who voices a vast array of Springfield residents.
When to Catch the Debut
Viewers won’t have to wait long to hear the new take on the character. Mo Collins is set to make her debut as Jimbo Jones in the upcoming episode titled “P.S. I Hate You,” scheduled to air this Sunday, April 13.
