Fortnite Chapter 7: Pacific Break.

Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 1—dubbed “Pacific Break”—has officially launched, introducing a massive, West Coast-inspired map filled with film studios, casinos, tech labs, and a South Park-themed park. Players dropping into the “Golden Coast” map today face new dynamic storm patterns, roaming bosses, and unique time-travel mechanics that redefine the late-game meta.

Navigating the Golden Coast

The new map is exceptionally varied, offering high-tier loot outside of traditional Points of Interest (POIs). While the Battle Bus is back, keep an eye out for experimental storm shapes. Epic Games has introduced a low-probability chance for rectangular or triangular storms to spawn, which fundamentally alter player movement and positioning until the final circle reverts to a standard shape.

For those looking to gear up quickly, keep an eye on the map for blue-labeled POIs. These zones feature a significantly higher spawn rate for rare blue chests, granting superior weaponry and mobility items from the start of the match.

The Dark Harvester and Boss Encounters

A Fortnite character who looks like Kill Bill glides mid-air while being chased by a large bomb-looking weapon.

The Dark Harvester ship now looms over the map, periodically scanning for players and chests. Unlike previous iterations, this scan covers the entire map, so watch for red pings on your HUD to track enemy movements.

Bosses—Beach Brutus, Hush, Bigfoot, and Human Bill—no longer have fixed spawn points. Instead, they drop from the Battle Bus at the start of the round, marked by a golden trail. If you spot a crown-wearing skull icon, approach with caution; if the icon is moving, you are likely tracking a player who has already defeated the boss.

Defeating these bosses grants mythic weapons and a “transformation kit.” While the kits offer unique buffs like shield regeneration or zero-point dashes, they come with significant drawbacks: they occupy an inventory slot, reveal your location at all times, and expose your health bar to enemies.

Hidden Mythics and Time Travel

Beyond boss drops, two hidden mythics are available via specific challenges:

  • Pinpoint Iron Pump Shotgun: Obtainable by lifting the giant weight at Ripped Tides. Tip: Consume the steaks nearby to speed up the process.
  • Enhanced Enforcer Assault Rifle: Requires driving a vehicle off the massive stunt ramp north of Classified Canyon.

Furthermore, the introduction of the DeLorean allows for time-travel mechanics. Speeding in these vehicles triggers a time vortex, rewarding players with a crate containing high-rarity weapons from Fortnite’s history.

Gold Economy and Mobility

Gold no longer carries over between rounds, making it vital to spend it early. Vending machines are your best friend for upgrading gear, purchasing self-revive devices (2,000 gold), or acquiring shield kegs.

For map traversal, hot-air balloons offer a slow but tactical vantage point. While inefficient for speed, they are excellent for securing high ground and sourcing Crash Pad Jrs. Meanwhile, the reboot system has been overhauled: you can now drive mobile reboot vans or purchase teammate revivals directly at any station for 500 gold.
