Restoring the environment is a core objective in Monster Hunter Stories 3, a task that requires players to drive away Invasive Monsters occupying the dens of rare Endangered Species. These creatures are not standard foes; they are essentially combat puzzles that demand specific strategies and tactical approaches to overcome.
Mastering the Invasive Monster Encounters
Each of the nine Invasive Monsters possesses unique abilities tied to their environment. Failing to use the correct method will result in a difficult—or impossible—fight. Below is the essential guide to defeating every Invasive Monster and claiming the rare eggs they guard.

Invasive Yian Garuga: Found guarding a Rathian den on the eastern side of Azuria. To drive it away, focus on breaking its legs. While any weapon works, a blunt weapon like a Hammer significantly accelerates the process. Note that this is a level 50 boss; you only need to trigger its retreat to secure the egg, but you will need to return later to defeat it permanently.

Invasive Plesioth: Located in a den near Mirror Lake. Reach it by swimming through the channel north of the Catavan Stand. Equip fire-based weapons or bring a monstie like Ratha to exploit its elemental weakness. You must break its head to prevent a devastating ultimate attack; once the head is broken, the Plesioth will flee, allowing you to claim the Lagiacrus egg.

Invasive Seregios: Situated in the northwestern corner of Azuria. Use a flying monstie to reach the hill. During the battle, watch for a colorful aura and a specific roar; counter the roar’s color with the corresponding attack type to win the Head-to-Head. For instance, if the roar has a blue hue, use a green technical attack to force its retreat and claim the Astalos egg.

Mid-Game Challenges and Tactics

Invasive Shogun Ceanataur: Hidden behind a waterfall in the Frozen Grotto area of Canalta Timberland. Its claws are lethal, so you must bolster your defenses. Use a Hunting Horn or Armorskin to raise your defense level to ‘L’ before the monster uses its Invasive attack. Once it fails to penetrate your defenses, it will abandon the nest, leaving behind a Mizutsune egg.

Invasive Nerscylla: Patrols the eastern part of Blessing Hill. This encounter requires a Gunlance equipped with Wyvern Fire or Wyvern Blaze. Since the Nerscylla remains invisible, wait for the red line indicating it is preparing ‘Invasive Death Scissors,’ then counter with your Fire ability. This forces it to retreat, revealing the Nargacuga egg.

Invasive Arzuros: Found at the southern tip of Canalta Timberland. This monster relies on honey and summons reinforcements. Simply defeat the summoned Arzuros repeatedly until the main target runs out of honey. It will then retreat, granting you access to the Canyne egg, which is essential for unlocking the Ground Dive ability.

Final Encounters in Tarkuan and Serathis

Invasive Odogaron: Located on a cliff in Tarkuan. You will need a wall-climbing monstie to reach it. Use a bow or gunlance to break its claws, then utilize the ‘Mud Torrent’ skill (via Almudron or Rite of Channeling) to inflict the Mudbogged status. Once both conditions are met, the Odogaron will leave, allowing you to take the Zinogre egg.

Invasive Diablos: Found at the southern border of Tarkuan. You must use a Hammer with the ‘Meteor Hammer’ ability. When the Diablos burrows, target the holes it emerges from with this attack. It will never emerge from the same hole twice, so keep timing your strikes until you successfully connect to force its retreat and earn the Tigrex egg.

Invasive Khezu: Located in a hidden alcove in the northeast of Serathis. Bring paralysis-curing items. Focus on winning Head-to-Heads to build your Kinship gauge. When the Khezu prepares its ultimate attack after using ‘Learning Complete,’ counter immediately with a Kinship skill. This will intimidate the beast into retreating, leaving the Barioth egg behind.
