Quentin Tarantino is bringing his original vision for his revenge epic to the big screen, as Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair—a definitive four-hour cut—launches in theaters nationwide this December.

The Ultimate Cut of a Cinematic Masterpiece
Lionsgate and Quentin Tarantino officially announced on October 1 that the two-part saga of Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 will be merged into a single, seamless feature. While the director has previously screened this combined version at select private events, this marks the first time general audiences across the country will experience the uncut, four-hour-plus odyssey as it was originally intended.
A Pure, Uninterrupted Revenge Tale
The transition from two films to one required more than just stitching segments together. To create a cohesive flow, the mid-movie cliffhanger from Vol. 1 and the lengthy recap sequence that opened Vol. 2 have been removed. This streamlined edit ensures a continuous narrative experience as the Bride, portrayed by Uma Thurman, tracks down the assassins who attempted to murder her on her wedding day.
What’s New in ‘The Whole Bloody Affair’?
Beyond the structural edits, fans can look forward to fresh content. This version includes a previously unseen seven-minute animated sequence, adding even more depth to the film’s distinctive visual style. Tarantino emphasized the importance of the theatrical experience, stating, “I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie. The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”
Theatrical Release Details
More than 22 years after the initial 2003 release of Kill Bill Vol. 1, the complete saga will hit cinemas on December 5. The final runtime for this massive cinematic event is approximately 4 hours and 18 minutes, with select locations offering the experience in high-fidelity 70mm and 35mm formats.
