Porsche has officially entered a new era with the launch of the all-electric Cayenne, a high-performance SUV the automaker claims is the most powerful and fastest production vehicle in its history. Debuting alongside existing gas and hybrid models, the Cayenne Electric arrives as Porsche navigates a complex period of financial strain, marked by recent operating losses and an increasingly competitive global luxury EV market.
Performance Specs That Redefine the Segment
The Cayenne Electric aims to silence skeptics with staggering technical specifications. The top-tier model delivers up to 850kW (1,139hp) and a 0-60mph time of just 2.4 seconds, with a top speed of 162mph. For those prioritizing utility, the SUV boasts a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons (7,716lbs), surpassing even some dedicated pickup trucks.

Pricing and Charging Technology
At launch, the lineup includes two variants: the base Cayenne Electric starting at $111,350 and the Cayenne Turbo Electric at $165,350. To support these performance figures, the 113kWh battery utilizes an 800-volt architecture capable of 400kW charging, allowing a 10-80 percent charge in just 18 minutes. Notably, this is the first electric Porsche to support inductive wireless charging, allowing owners to charge via a floor plate at 11kW.

Advanced Handling and Interior Innovation
The vehicle features Porsche’s Active Ride hydraulic suspension system, alongside torque vectoring and adaptive air suspension as standard on the Turbo trim. Inside, the cabin centers around the “Flow Display”—a massive, curved screen that integrates with the driver-focused interface. To balance digital complexity, Porsche has retained analog controls for critical functions like HVAC and volume, supplemented by the “Ferry pad” hand rest for ergonomic operation.

Seamless Connectivity and Availability
The new operating system includes an AI-powered voice assistant capable of managing complex climate and navigation requests. With Apple’s immersive CarPlay Ultra integration and a sophisticated heads-up display, the Cayenne Electric aims to blend traditional driver engagement with modern digital convenience. Orders are open now, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in summer 2026.
