Former EVE Online developers are currently building Seed, a groundbreaking society simulation MMO where player characters continue to exist, work, and interact with the world even after the user logs off. By utilizing an autonomous AI system, the game ensures that your virtual avatar remains an active participant in a persistent, living ecosystem, fundamentally changing how players engage with a persistent online universe.
A Persistent World That Never Pauses
Unlike traditional MMOs where characters vanish into thin air upon logout, Seed is designed to mimic the complexities of human society. The developers at Klang have prioritized a simulation-first approach, where the “life” of your character is managed by AI routines that carry out your long-term goals and societal contributions while you are away from your keyboard. This creates a dynamic environment where the economy, social structures, and world-state evolve 24/7 without requiring constant manual input.

Current Status and Beta Access
For now, Seed is still in a closed beta state, letting in players gradually to keep testing out the society simulation. Klang says that it will be inviting more players into the testing pool soon but news about a wider launch isn’t happening just yet.
