In Monster Hunter Stories 3, you can track down and tame nine rare endangered monster species by locating their specific dens and defeating the invasive creatures guarding them, throughout your journey across the game’s expansive regions.
While some of these rare monsties are tied to the main narrative, most require you to venture off the beaten path. Securing these eggs is the key to adding the most powerful companions to your roster. Below is the complete guide to finding every endangered species.
Azuria Endangered Species
Rathian: As a main story encounter, this is the first endangered species you will find. Head to the eastern edge of Azuria in Sunpetal Plains.
The den is guarded by an Invasive Yian Garuga. Focus your attacks on the monster’s legs to force a retreat, clearing the way for the Rathian egg.
Lagiacrus: Located in a hidden cave within Mirror Lake. Search for disturbed endemic life near the Catavan Stand on the central island, then swim north through the narrow channel to reach the den.
An Invasive Plesioth guards this location. Use a hammer to break its head and drive it away.
Astalos: Found in the northwestern corner of Mirror Lake. Glide using a flying monstie to reach the area marked by glowing endemic life.
You will face an Invasive Seregios here. Utilize a hammer with an AOE skill to win a Head-to-Head after identifying the roar’s color, forcing the creature to flee.
Canalta Timberland Endangered Species
Canyne: This egg is obtained during the main story questline in the southern region of the Canalta Timberland.
The den is protected by an Invasive Arzuros. Keep defeating the monsters it summons until the guardian retreats.
Nargacuga: Glide to the southeastern part of Blessing Hill to find the den guarded by an Invasive Nerscylla.
The Nerscylla is immune to damage unless it is attacking. Wait for it to target you and use the gunlance’s Wyvern Blaze to drive it away.
Mizutsune: Hidden behind the waterfall at the northern edge of the Frozen Grotto area.
An Invasive Shogun Ceanatuar guards the entrance. Equip Defense Up (L) to survive its claw attacks and drive the monster off.
Tarukan and Serathis Locations
Zinogre: Located at the summit of a mountain in Rococo Rocks. Use a flying monstie to navigate the updrafts to the top.
Defeat the Invasive Odogaron by inflicting Mudbogged with Almudron’s Mud Torrent, then focus piercing damage on its claws.
Tigrex: Found at the southern tip of the Colossal Dragon’s Remains. Look for a path behind the tall mountains to uncover the hidden den.
The den is guarded by an Invasive Diablos. Use a hammer’s Meteor Hammer skill when the monster burrows to hit it as it emerges.
Barioth: The only endangered species in Serathis, located northeast of the Coastline Catavan Stand.
An Invasive Khezu guards this egg. Bring paralysis-curing items, win your Head-to-Heads, and use a Kinship Skill to force the guardian to flee.
